SUBJECT:  Gringo & Half-Wit Take A Ride...

OK... so... the mice are gone. Today was "The Big Day," and I gotta tell ya, I am definitely relieved... I can finally get some sleep! And this is why:
Half-Wit finally figured out how to use the exercise-wheel. It took her three days but - *shrug* - better late than never, I guess. Once she mastered it, she became a complete exercise-wheel whore. She kept running and running and running and running without giving Gringo a turn. Poor little Gringo would sit on top of the cave for hours watching her hog the wheel all to herself, waiting for his turn, but she totally ignored him. After two nights of this, I started to feel kind'a bad for him. I almost went out and bought another wheel for him to play in but - apparently - after a brief squabble, they worked something out on their own. They actually learned how to share the wheel. She'd run for an hour or two then jump out. Gringo would then jump in and run for a couple of hours. I was like, "Wow! That's pretty cool, they're sharing it!" This new "exercise schedule" went on for a couple of days...
However... um... I came home from work the other day and discovered their exercising schedule had changed. When I walked into the kitchen to feed Sweety Face, I happened to look down at the aquarium and what I saw stopped me in my tracks. I just stood there watching 'cause I couldn't believe it. I guess "taking turns" wasn't working out for them as well as I thought it was. And I can understand that because when one mouse is running, the other one doesn't really have anything to do. After a couple of hours of just sitting there waiting for his/her turn, I can imagine that would get kind'a frustrating, not to mention boring. When I looked down at the tank it took me a moment to comprehend what was going on. They were actually running in the wheel together, side by side.
Now, under normal circumstances, this really wouldn't have been considered a very big deal. I've seen numerous mice running in wheels before. I used to have a python for a pet... and instead of buying mice for bait, I started breeding my own. At one point, I had about 60 mice in a huge breeder tank... which contained three exercise-wheels. When you've got 60 mice and only three wheels, it's pretty common to see 10 or 15 mice trying to use one wheel at the same time. But, as you can probably imagine, it's always a very chaotic, haphazard event. Um... this was NOT the case with Gringo and Half-Wit.
I am convinced that when I was at work, these two mice were in the wheel - all day long - practicing running side by side. This definitely looked as if it was rehearsed. They weren't just "running." They were running in sync with each other!!! I swear to God, I stood there - in my kitchen - watching them for about twenty minutes. After a while, they didn't even look like mice to me anymore. Their feet were moving in such perfect harmony, in my mind, all I could see was a miniature equestrian Dressage team! It was ridiculous. I couldn't believe it. All I kept thinking was, "Oh, yeah -- they've GOT to go! This is definitely NOT normal behavior for field mice!" LOL!
So... earlier this evening, I emptied everything out of the aquarium - the water bottle, the food bowl, the cave, AND the wheel - I packed up some food for them, then I lugged them down to the car and off we went. I drove them all the way up to Trumbull to a little cemetery called "Gate of Heaven." The cemetery is surrounded by woodland, and there's a little pond there too, so they'll have plenty of water and a huge variety of nesting places.
When I dumped the aquarium over to let them go, it was kind'a funny. They didn't scamper off right away like I expected. I actually had to nudge Half-Wit with my finger a couple of times before she finally jumped into the bushes away from me. And Gringo was even more reluctant to leave. He just stood there looking up at me like, "What's goin' on? Why are we here? I'm free to go? Really? I can just leave???"
When I put my hand down to nudge him along, he stood up on his hind feet and sniffed my fingers. After taking care of him for six months, that was the first time he didn't cower away from me. He showed no fear at all. He sniffed me for about 10 seconds, and when I gently nudged his tummy to head him into the woods that's when he really floored me. He actually hopped up into the palm of my hand. I was like, "Um. OK. Great. Now what?"
Not knowing what else to do, I lifted him up high enough so we were eye-to-eye with each other and I said, "It's OK... this is your new home. You have to go now. You're free. Don't be scared. This is a nice place. Woods n' water n' food... you'll be happy here, OK?" I put my hand back down to the ground and he hopped off me. I poked at him again and he jumped onto the trunk of a tree and up he went. I watched him climb until he was out of sight...
I opened up the little container of food I brought and spread it around the forest floor for them... then I gathered up the aquarium and came home.
This was a really strange experience for me. I mean... all the other mice never acted like that. When I released them, for the most part, they ran like hell as soon as they realized they were loose. They wanted nothing to do with me. They were like, "Buh-bye," - and BANG! - they were off like a bullet, running for their lives. Gringo truly shocked me today. For six months, he fled in terror at the mere sight of me... he'd dive into the cave as soon as I came into the room, and refused to come out until after I shut the lights off and left the room. And when he's on the ground, standing in the grass, loose, free to go, all of a sudden he's in my hand??? What the hell? I don't get it. Driving home I couldn't stop myself from thinking that that was his way of saying "Thanks," or "Goodbye," or whatever. It was really strange. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was COOL... but definitely out of the ordinary.
Now that I'm home, my kitchen is unbelievably quiet, LOL. Tonight, when I get into bed, I won't be forced to listen to that damn exercise-wheel all night long. With the both of them running in it, it made quite a racket. It'll be nice to get some undisturbed sleep for a change.  :-)
Anyway, here's a few pictures I managed to get during the release. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take any when Gringo was in my hand. I tried, but I couldn't operate the camera using only my left hand. Oh well...

I know I've been kind'a quiet lately... sorry 'bout that. I started reading Tolstoy's Anna Karenina almost a week ago and it's been consuming me ever since. I don't know if I'm gonna be able to actually finish this book or not, LOL. It's approximately 800 pages and the text is T-I-N-Y. Even though I'm a week into it, I'm only on page 103. Good grief!
I've got a bunch of stuff to write about but I'm gonna put it off 'til the weekend when I have more time. I don't have to work on Monday (thanks to Memorial Day) so - I PROMISE - I'll get "The Dish" all caught up!
Stay tuned 'cause... I'll be back!
     Ciao for now!

SUBJECT:  Gringo's Got a Girlfriend!

Well, well, well! When I went diggin' for a can of Fancy Feast for Sweety Face's dinner this evening I found Mouse #7 waiting for me in the trap. FIGURES! I haven't caught a mouse in six months, and as soon as I decide the time has come to finally release Gringo, another one shows up. That's just my luck, LOL.
I was planning on letting Gringo go sometime this week, but now I guess I'll wait 'til Memorial Day weekend. That way, these two will have time enough to get acquainted before "The Big Day." I figure if they become friends, then facing the wilderness might be a little easier for them to deal with, y'know what I mean? Safety in numbers, and all that jazz. And since the one I caught tonight is a little girl, who knows? They might even hook up and have a family!
She's a cute little thing. Not very bright, but cute.
I dunno... maybe I've just gotten used to Gringo's exceptionally high IQ. I remember when I caught him. He made himself right at home. He knew exactly what to do! He was drinking from the water bottle, chowin' down in the food bowl, and running his little ass off in the exercise wheel that same night. Now, as far as I'm concerned, that's a pretty damn smart mouse.
This little girl though... I don't know about her. She seems to be lacking some skills. Maybe she's the product of excessive in-breeding. Maybe her parents were brother n' sister??? I don't know. But, whatever the reason, this one is mentally challenged. Maybe not a lot, but definitely a little...

She hasn't figured out how to use the exercise wheel yet. She keeps trying to climb up the side of it which gets her nowhere since it keeps turning every time she puts her little paws on it. And earlier this evening I actually caught her UNDERNEATH the wheel, laying upside-down (flat on her back), with all four feet spinning it 'round and 'round.
The water bottle is nothing more than a Jungle-Gym to her. She spent almost an hour climbing it. Up and down, up and down, up and down. She's clueless. She has no idea that she's supposed to drink the water dripping out of the end of it. Hmph! So much for the acute sense of smell. And, so far, I haven't seen her anywhere near the food bowl.
She also appears to be using the cave as a trampoline instead of hiding/sleeping under it. She gets on top of it, then jumps straight in the air, attaching herself firmly to the bottom of the tank's wire-mesh lid. Once up there, she proceeds to walk around upside down... and, um, she hasn't quite mastered that yet either. Every once in a while she'll lose her grip and plummet to the bottom of the tank with a dull, but prominent, THUD! Or sometimes she'll just dangle there for a minute or two, holding on for dear life with her front feet, which inevitably ends with the same result. THUD!
Regardless, Gringo seems to dig her, even though I think she's a half-wit. They're getting along really well and that's all that matters. So... I guess... as long as Gringo remains "into" dumb blondes, I think they've got a good chance. :-)

SUBJECT:  Jewelry Photo...

Since I've spent my entire evening uploading photos, I figured one more wouldn't hurt, LOL. Here's a shot of the complete Turquoise/Picture Jasper jewelry set I mentioned yesterday: the ring (from "The Big E"), the bracelet & necklace (from Adrienne), and the earrings I made over the weekend.

I probably shouldn't have used the flash for this picture 'cause it kind'a "washed out" the turquoise beads a little, but I 'spose it's good enough for this here blog of mine.
I wore the whole set on Sunday to Zachary's birthday party and everyone Ooohed and Ahhhed over it all. They couldn't believe everything was hand made. Well, except for the ring, of course.  ;-)

SUBJECT:  Busy Weekend...

Spent NINE hours at Adrienne's house on Saturday, LOL. We had a very "girlie" afternoon. It started off with the Stripper Shoes/Hooker Heels. These shoes are, um... a little bit frightening, but also quite impressive. They're black patent leather with six-inch heels... which means Adrienne is about 17 feet tall when she's got them on, LOL. I can't imagine ever wearing them out in public, but they are pretty cool. I really should've brought my camera with me. She says they also make a pair with little "yellow rubber duckies" floating around in the heels/soles. Now, I gotta tell ya, IF she buys those too, there WILL BE a photo of those on The Dish somewhere! Trust me!!!
After the Hooker Heels demonstration, we sat down to make some jewelry. Last September, when I went to "The Big E" with Jen & Mark, I bought myself a sterling-silver Turquoise/Picture Jasper ring. I love this ring! I wear it every day. After seeing the ring, Adrienne decided to make some jewelry using those same stones since they look so nice together. A couple months ago, she gave me a bracelet AND a necklace that match the ring perfectly! So, when I was at her house on Saturday, my mission was to make a pair of matching earrings to complete the set. Well, MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! The earrings are fabulous! I picked out the stones I wanted and put them all together to create the basic "look," then Adrienne finished them off for me by applying the french hooks. They're awesome! I absolutely love these earrings!
     Our next "girlie-thing-to-do" involved make-up! I haven't worn make-up since high school. I don't wear make-up for two reasons:

#1 -- I don't have time in the morning, before heading off to work, to "put my face on." I just can't be bothered.
and #2 -- Why groom a dead dog? There's not much point, right? Right! So, again, I just don't bother...
However, there's an InfoMercial I've seen for some make-up called "Bare Minerals." Every time I come across this damn InfoMercial, I always end up watching it 'cause it looks so easy... so quick... and their skin looks so flawless when they're done, I always say the same thing, "Maybe I should try that stuff." But I never have. I end up changing the channel, and once it's out of sight, it's out of mind, completely forgotten about until I see the ad again.
The last time Adrienne and I were on the phone, I happened to mention this stuff to her and she was, like, "OH MY GOD, THAT'S THE STUFF I USE. YOU DIDN'T KNOW???" Well, no, I didn't know, LOL. I know now though.  ;-)
So, when I was at her house - after the jewelry session - we trekked up to the bathroom and she "did up" her whole face for me in FIVE minutes! That's it. All done! In five minutes! I was truly amazed... and her skin looked fantastic. This make-up is great! It looked so natural. Even right up close, it didn't look like make-up at all. It just looked like skin. I gotta buy some of this stuff!!! This kind of make-up I have time for in the morning. Definitely! I can't believe it only took five minutes. That's really cool.
And then, after that, we monopolized the kitchen. Adrienne made her famous "Chili Sauce/Grape Jelly Meatballs" for dinner. We made sandwiches, and washed them down with a couple bottles of Smirnoff Ice, the Raspberry Burst flavor! Mmm-mmm good!!! I gotta buy some of those too! LOL!!!
When dinner was over, I watched as Adrienne painstakingly designed and put together another necklace, made with a sea-shell pendant and Mother-of-Pearl fresh-water pearls/beads. It came out really nice! If I had to guess, I'd say she could probably pull in about fifty bucks for it if she decides to sell it. Maybe even more...
I left at Midnight to head home, with some left-over meatballs in tow for a late-night snack. What a day! Girlie, LOL, but fun!
Then I spent all day Sunday at Jen & Mark's house for Zachary's birthday party. He turns seven on May 13th, but since that's Mother's Day they decided to have his party a week early. That was fun too, but exhausting. Once all the guests left, he decided he wanted to play with his new toys. All of them... all at once, LOL. It took almost two hours to get everything out of their packages. God, I hate those damn plastic ties they use to secure the toys inside the boxes! What a pain in the ass it is to get them free. Good grief!!! By the time I left their house at 9:30pm I was practically lame from crawling all over the floor with him for so long.
And, on top of all this, earlier in the week, I decided that it's time to release "Gringo the Mouse" back into the wild where he belongs. He's been living with me since November... and the weather is finally warm enough, so - yup! - he's gotta go! My initial plan was to "take him for a ride" when I got home from Jen & Mark's last night, but I was so tired at that point I said, "The hell with it. I'm going to bed." So, sometime this week, he's out'a here! I'm sure Sweety Face will be a little bummed to see him go, but something's telling me Gringo will be thrilled!
So... that was my weekend. Phew! I'm still kind'a tired from it all...

SUBJECT:  Megan's Sweetheart Break-In Album!

WOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I got it! I got it!!! I finally managed to download all the songs for this album!!!
I received the "mysterious link" from the person I was emailing with the other night. As soon as she sent it to me, I went directly to the site and started downloading all 16 tracks. They all played beautifully, except for the very last one. For some reason, it just wouldn't open for me. So, I clicked on the link for the site's "Forum" and actually became a member so I could ask them for some help. In a matter of minutes, I received a reply from a VERY NICE person saying that she just emailed me the file I was looking for. I checked my email, and sure enough, there it was. I downloaded it, and - THANK GOD - the file played! Twenty minutes later I had three CDs burnt, LOL!
Last night I designed the label and the covers (front and back) for the CD cases. And, tonight, as soon as I got home from work, I listened to all three CDs to make sure they sound OK... then I stuck the labels on them and put the cases together. They look great AND they sound great. I can't wait to blast this album in the car on my way to work tomorrow morning!!!
OMG, I am SOOOO happy! I FINALLY have this album! God... it only took SIX MONTHS! But I gotta tell ya... it was worth the trouble. It was worth the hunting. It was worth the hoping! It was worth the five hours it took to download all the songs, LOL. This album is phenomenal! Megan's voice is breathtaking throughout the entire thing. Every song is FANTASTIC!!!
Seriously! I am so happy right now, I don't even know what to do with myself, LOL. I'm actually sitting here, typing this, grinning from ear to ear. I can't stop! I can't help it! I am just thrilled to death!!! Thank God I live alone 'cause I must look like a complete fool, LOL. I am just deliriously happy right now! I can't believe I finally have this album! OMG!
OK... Y'know what? The hell with this... I'm not even gonna bother typing anything else tonight. I'm just gonna go listen to it again. Buh-bye!

Just got another email from my friend Adrienne. She's responding to Entry # 232 about the CD labels. I thought it was kind'a funny, so here it is:

Dove Wrote:
I hate it when people say, "I'll burn you a copy of this CD," and when they give it to you, it's got a plain white label thrown on it, or even worse, they've written all over it with a black Sharpie marker. It's ugly, boring, and very unprofessional looking. It looks "cheap," and I don't like that.

Adrienne Wrote:
Ummm (trying to scratch off Sharpie marker)...I um ...did the um...Amy Winehouse CD's. Hee Hee.
I like the label with the strawberry background. Your talents are wasted on just tinkering. You need to be getting P-A-I-D. You know you're the shit.

SUBJECT:  Movies, Baseball, & The Human Jungle-Gym...

I spent all day yesterday (Saturday) sitting in front of my television watching movies. I rented "Happy Feet," "The Break Up," "The Devil Wears Prada," "The Holiday," and "The Pursuit of Happyness."
They were all pretty good, especially "Pursuit of Happyness." Will Smith's performance was amazing in this movie!!! "The Break Up" was really good too, but I thought the ending kind'a sucked. "Happy Feet" was adorable... and I really dug the whole "conservation" theme. I thought that was pretty cool! "The Devil Wears Prada" was great but - again - wasn't crazy about how it ended. It kind'a ended with a whimper, not with a bang. And "The Holiday" was excellent! Loved it, from beginning to end! The cast was wonderful!
So... yeah... it was a full day of movies at my house, LOL. It all added up to about 10 hours of some serious Vegging-On-The-Couch time. My cat loved it! She hung out on my lap throughout the entire marathon.
And after all that relaxation yesterday, today turned out to be absolutely exhausting! I left my house at noon to head up to Naugatuck so I could attend Zachary's first Little League (T-Ball) baseball game. It started at 1:00pm and, thankfully, at this age (5, 6, and 7) they do NOT play all nine innings, LOL. They only played two, but the game still lasted an hour and a half. It was fun to watch all the little kids running around; and Zachary did really well. He managed to score twice, even though they don't technically "keep score" during T-Ball games. For this particular age-group the games are just "for fun," not for competition.
After Zachary's game we went back to Jen & Mark's house to watch the last half of the REAL game between the Red Sox and the Yankees. My Boys lost yesterday (3 to 1), but they made up for it today, beating the Yankees 7 to 4. I was thrilled! During the whole thing Mark kept teasing me about what a lousy team I was routing for. He's obviously a Yankees fan, so when my Boys kicked their ass (again!), it was my turn to rub his nose in it, LOL. I actually managed to persuade Zachary into telling his father, "The Yankees SUCK, Dad!" which totally made my day!!! It pissed Mark off though.  ;-)  ...he'll live.
Right after the game, we all grabbed something to eat.... Jennifer fixed a great chicken dinner for us. Which reminds me, I have to get the recipe from her the next time I see her 'cause that bird was awesome! And then somehow - miraculously - my body apparently morphed into a Jungle-Gym 'cause for the next four hours Zack was climbing all over me, LOL.
He LOVES it when I come over 'cause I always end up on the floor playing with him. He usually drags out a whole bunch of toy trucks, or dinosaurs, or jig-saw puzzles... but, this time, I was the toy. For some reason, he insisted on using me as a slide. He'd climb into my lap, then slide down my legs to the floor. This kept him thoroughly entertained for four hours. I guess it was a LOT of fun. I don't know why. He's six! I guess that's the only explanation necessary, LOL! And I'm not kidding you -- he must've done this a hundred times before he finally got tired.
Anyway, it was a cool weekend... I just wish the days were reversed. I really could've used today as the "relaxation" day. Now I'm pooped, and I gotta go back to work tomorrow. Oh well... that's life...

SUBJECT:  "Dove's Designs" (Meg's CD Labels)...

Waaaaaay back in entry #66, I posted a link to a Tommy Lee Jones website that displays some of my "graphic design" work. I love sitting at this computer of mine tinkering around... and one of the things I enjoy most of all is seeing an image in my head, then actually seeing it as a finished "product."
I like my stuff to look "nice." So... when I bought this new computer and was able to start burning my own CDs at home, I decided to try my hand at designing some labels. So far, I've created about a dozen of them.
In the entry below (#231), you can see what Megan's "Big As A Berry" CD looks like. There's a huge strawberry on it. Well, when I burnt a copy of it to keep in my car, I wanted a label with her picture on it too, not just a big red berry, LOL. I created my own label for the "Mega Megan Mullally Mix" CD I made the other day also. After experimenting with a few ideas, I eventually came up with these:

They came out pretty good, don't ya think?  :-)  The images shown here are only 72 dpi, but the ones I actually applied to the CDs were printed at 300 dpi and they look fabulous. They're definitely a lot nicer than black magic-marker, that's for sure.
Anyway, I just wanted to brag a little. ;-)
And now I'm off to watch my Boys take on the Yankees again. The game's at 7:05, so I'm out'a here for now. Hopefully they'll stomp all over them again like last weekend!!!

SUBJECT:  Megan, Megan, and MORE Megan!!!

I think I might have a good lead on the "Sweetheart Break-In" album after all! Or, at the very least, MP3s of all the songs...
Over the weekend, in between watching the Red Sox stomp all over the Yankees, I spent my time downloading a shit-load of Megan Mullally MP3s and wav files. I've created a CD for myself that, basically, covers her entire career in music, LOL!
Oh my God... I found stuff from the Broadway productions of both "Grease," and "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying"... I found some great "Karen Walker" wavs from Will & Grace... I found stuff from SNL, from David Letterman, from live concerts she performed with Supreme Music Program... I found some Christmas carols... and I found some stuff from The Megan Mullally Show. Hell, I even found an MP3 of her singing a parody of one of the Pussycat Dolls' songs which is hilarious!
I sat here for almost 17 hours downloading my ass off!!! I couldn't stop! Everything I found I HAD to have! My back was killing me, and my ass was numb, but it was worth the trouble.... I crammed 32 files onto this damn CD, LOL. It plays for 73 minutes, and it's awesome!!!
Unfortunately, though, five of the songs I downloaded from one site in particular wouldn't play. All five of them were somehow "corrupted" and that really pissed me off. They're all duets and now that I know they exist, I gotta have them!
I emailed the webmaster to let her know what was going on and, after thanking me for bringing this to her attention, she said that she's working on replacing them right now. COOL!!! So, hopefully, I'll be able to download those tomorrow night when I get home from work.
She also asked me if I had Megan's albums. She said that if I didn't, she'd send me a "private link" where I can find the songs to both of them. I emailed her right away explaining that, yes, I have "Big As A Berry," but not "Sweetheart" and that I would very much appreciate the private link! I am currently waiting to receive this mysterious link. I've got my fingers crossed, hoping that I'll be able to find the ENTIRE "Sweetheart" album... and that the MP3 sound quality will be good!
Anyway, for the rest of the weekend - what little was left of it, that is - I worked on designing a label and jacket for the CD from the library of Megan j-pegs that are now saved on my system, LOL. And I must say... it looks pretty sharp! If I was to hand this CD case to you, you'd probably think that I bought it in a store somewhere, it came out that good! I'm calling it the Mega Megan Mullally Mix. This is "Disc One." I'm hoping to find enough stuff to fill one more. Once the five corrupted files are replaced, I'll have almost enough for "Disc Two."
God, I love the Internet!!!!  :-)  Love it, love it, love it!!!

SUBJECT:  Got Milk? Plane Tickets?

It's official! Ana - my friend in Mexico - is definitely coming this summer for a visit so we can finally meet in person (after talking online for the last SIX YEARS). She just got her plane tickets today!
She flies into JFK International Airport on Saturday, June 30th. She'll be here for six full days... and then on July 7th, she flies back to Mexico. This is very exciting!!! I can't wait for her to get here! Oh my God...
This visit has been a long time coming. We've been talking about it for, literally, years now... and I can't believe it's finally gonna happen. This is so cool! It's going to be an exhausting week, I'm sure, but we are gonna have a blast!
Our plans for that week, as of right now, are still a little sketchy... but we're gonna try to cram in as much as we can. I'm not sure yet, but it sounds like our first adventure is going to be seeing "The Lion King" on Broadway at the Minskoff Theater.
Some time during that week I also want to visit my Mom in Massachusetts, and my Dad in New Hampshire.... I'm not sure if we're gonna try to do both in one day or if it's gonna be two day-trips instead. I can't decide. I think combining them both into one day would be the best way to do it. We'll probably hit my Mom's house in the morning and stay for lunch... and then head to my Dad's after that for dinner (at Bugaboo Creek?) and coffee. We'll see.
And she definitely has to meet Jen, Mark and Zachary.... and Adrienne and her family. That'll probably take up another full day. She wants to see where I work too, but I know if we go there during our "business hours" my boss is gonna try to put me to work, so I think we'll visit The Shop "after hours" instead to avoid all that.
I know at least one full day is going to involve a major shopping spree. Ana's a Streisand fan (like me), but since she lives in Mexico she can't find a lot of Streisand stuff. Apparently the merchandise doesn't make it over the border very often. We'll be hitting all the stores I can possibly think of that carry CDs, DVDs and books, hunting for all things Barbra!
And, oddly enough, one of the things we're most excited about is having coffee together, actually face-to-face. For six years, we've been meeting in a chat room for our coffee. We pick a date and time on the calendar approximately once a month.... and right before it's time to meet in the chat room, we both brew a pot of coffee, then we stay up half the night chatting. Being that I have a Starbucks five-hundred feet from my apartment, I just KNOW we'll be spending hours there, LOL!
What the rest of that week holds in store for us, I have no idea.... but, it's gonna be great! We're gonna have so much fun, I can't wait!!!
     67 DAYS (...and counting)!!!

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The Red Sox "made History" this weekend! TWICE, in fact!!!
This is the first time (in the last 17 years) the Red Sox won all three games against the Yankees at Fenway Park!!! Thankfully, I was actually able to watch all three games! Needless to say, I had a great friggin' weekend!
And, during tonight's game, History was made the second time when they hit FOUR home runs... all in a row, one right after the other!!! It was amazing! When they hit the third one, I got so excited I was practically screaming, "I GOTTA CALL MY FATHER, I GOTTA CALL MY FATHER!" Since he's a Red Sox fan too, I knew he had the game on. When I dialed his number, he picked up on the first ring and said, "How do you like that?!?!" LOL!!! While we were on the phone talking about the first three, Jason Varitek stepped up to bat and - SLAM! - over the wall it went! Throughout baseball's entire history, the Red Sox are only the fifth team to hit four in a row! And, my God, I gotta tell ya... that sure was pretty!
I know it's still early in the season, but... if they keep this up, we might just see them take the World Series again!!!
     Ahhhhhh.... life is good!!!
     GOOOOO, RED SOX!!!!!

SUBJECT:  This Just In...

I just received an email from my best buddy, Adrienne. Like my Mom, she's an avid "Dish" reader too. And, apparently, she has just stumbled upon the entry I wrote for Easter. This is what she had to say:

"If Sweety-Face knew that you done Photoshopped her ass into the Easter bunny, she'd kill you in your sleep. (Mommy must dieeeeeeeeeeee!) Phftttt!"
I love to get comments like this after readers visit my Blog. It proves to me that, yes, they are actually paying attention to not just the shit I write, but also the graphics that accompany some of the entries. That's pretty cool...
Makes it all worth while.  :-)

PS - Yo, Adrienne! Sorry I didn't respond to your Instant Message earlier. I forgot I was still online... and when your IM came through I was out cold on the couch.

SUBJECT:  59 and Pregnant...

A woman went to the doctor's office where she was seen by a young, new doctor. After about 4 minutes in the examination room, the doctor told her she was pregnant. She burst out crying, screaming as she ran down the hall.
An older doctor stopped her and asked what the problem was, and she told him her story. After listening, he had her sit down and relax in another room.
The old doctor marched down the hallway, back to where the first doctor was and demanded, "What's the matter with you? Mrs. Terry is 59 years old, she has four grown children and seven grandchildren, and you told her she was pregnant???"
The new doctor continued to write on his clipboard and without looking up said, "Does she still have the hiccups?"
